Be Still
Stillness, in two ways.
Meditation for real minds, and a gentle approach to emotional healing.
Meditation
You don't have to empty your mind.

Meditation isn't about silencing your thoughts or becoming a calmer, better version of yourself. It's a way of noticing: seeing your thoughts and feelings a little more clearly, and relating to them with more space and kindness.
In a private session I guide you through practices suited to you, which may include breath awareness, body scans, visualisation, deep relaxation and quiet reflection. It's ideal if you're a complete beginner, if you've tried meditation and felt you were “doing it wrong”, or if you'd like support deepening a practice you already have.
- Private sessions: in person or online.
- Recorded meditations: coming soon. Join the Letters to hear first.
Havening Techniques®
A gentle approach to emotional healing.

Sometimes an experience ends, but the feelings connected to it remain.
Havening Techniques® are a neuroscience-informed psychosensory approach, developed by Dr Ronald Ruden with Steven Ruden, to help people work with the emotional impact of stressful and distressing experiences. Through gentle sensory input, including Havening Touch®, the method aims to support emotional regulation and to reduce the distress connected with difficult memories.
Why people come to Havening
- Stress and anxiety
- Distressing memories and emotional triggers
- The lingering effects of difficult or traumatic experiences, and feeling overwhelmed
- Emotional regulation and resilience
- Confidence, wellbeing and personal growth
What happens in a session
We begin by talking about what you'd like to work with, and I explain each step before we start. Havening Touch® is a slow, soothing touch to the upper arms, palms and face, combined with simple attention exercises such as counting, humming or imagining a calm place. You stay in control throughout.
Online, I guide you through Self-Havening®, in which you apply the soothing touch yourself while I lead the process step by step.
In person, by arrangement, I can offer Havening Touch® myself, always agreed together beforehand, or guide you in Self-Havening® if you prefer.
Either way, you leave with Self-Havening® to use on your own.
